The poor pinon tree shows the effects of this summer’s terrible drought (in a long stretch of years of drought), but behind Chipeta, rain was moving across the southeastern/eastern horizon while the sun was setting, shining a lovely bit of light on her.
The forecast was wrong again; we GOT rain yesterday. I love it when it’s wrong in the positive. 🙂
😁 Same here, TJ! We got rain last night when we weren’t supposed to. I like that kind of wrong forecast! That dying pinion reminds me of all the 360 some pinions that we lost to drought in the 90’s. Even more unbelievable is that Denny cut them all down in his spare time! It was like a second non-paying lumberjack job.
